Bell bottom is an upcoming movie of Akshay Kumar and is scheduled to release on the 2nd of April, 2021.
The most intriguing part of the movie is that it’s based on a true story of the 80’s era where Akshay Kumar will be seen as a RAW agent. Kumar himself took it on his Instagram last year and shared the poster of his upcoming movie and its teaser was released on 5th October 2020. Apart from Akshay Kumar in the lead role, the movie has three actresses – Vaani Kapoor, Huma Qureshi, and Miss Universe Lara Dutta Bhupati.
The released poster of the movie had Akshay Kumar in a coffee-brown suit with bell-bottoms, dark shades, and a big mustache. He is seen resting on a classic 80s era car and a plane taking off. The look of the movie reminds Akshay Kumar’s previous hits like Rustom and Rowdy Rathore.
Another poster released had Akshay In the twenty-nine-second’s teaser released by Pooja Entertainment company’s youtube channel had Akshay Kumar walking around an airplane and hanging on a truck. All these sneak peek at the film gave an idea that the movie is going to be a retro-styled espionage thriller.
Shot in the highlands of Scotland, the movie is based on a true event of a plane hijacking which happened in the 80’s era. The movie has Vaani Kapoor as the Akshay Kumar love interest which makes the movie of a combo of thriller, mystery, and romance. The roles of other actresses Huma Qureshi and Lara Dutta Bhupati are not yet being confirmed.
Another interesting fact about the movie is that ‘Bell Bottom’ has become the first movie in the world to complete its shooting during the pandemic.
The movie was earlier confused for a remake of a Kannada movie by the same, but Akshay Kumar himself cleared this on Twitter.
The movie was wrapped up on 30 September 2020 and is scheduled to release on the 2nd of April, 2021. The movie is directed by Lucknow Central and Patiala House director Ranjit Tiwari. The scriptwriters are Aseem Arora and Parveez Shaikh and the music is by Tanishk Bakshi.
The movie is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jacky Bhagnani, Deepshika Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikhil Advani.
The movie was announced in 2019 and was set to release on 2021 Republic Day but the pandemic and the resulting lockdown delayed its release date.
